AI broke cold outreach.
We’re fixing it.
Cold outreach used to work because it required real effort. A good sales or recruiting email took ten minutes of research and a sentence that proved you’d actually thought about who you were writing to. That effort was important: it showed the prospect that you probably wouldn’t waste their time.
ChatGPT made that effort meaningless. Today anyone can send 10,000 emails that read like a real person wrote them, essentially free. One of our founders ran Dover, a recruiting company that sent personalized sourcing emails at scale, and we watched response rates get lower and lower as AI became more widespread.
Recipients can’t tell the real emails from the AI ones, so they just ignore all of them — including the ones they would have wanted to say yes to.
We believe that there’s one signal that’s hard to fake: money. Sales and recruiting teams already spend tens of billions of dollars a year on bus ads, Meta and Google, LinkedIn promoted posts, paid job boards, and outreach tools. But none of that money reaches the person you’re actually trying to reach. It just pays middlemen.
