Instant Expert vs Apollo: sales outreach or a paid conversation?
Compare Apollo’s prospecting and sales sequences with Instant Expert’s paid calls and replies, including pricing and how to use an existing contact list.
Use Apollo to find prospects and run ongoing sales outreach. Use Instant Expert to offer someone payment for a particular call or reply. If you already use Apollo, you can keep your sales work there and invite selected contacts through Instant Expert.
What you would do in each
In Apollo, you build a prospect list, get contact details, put people into sequences, make calls and follow up. Its workspace brings those activities together. This makes sense when contacting new accounts is a regular part of your sales team’s work. Apollo workspace
In Instant Expert, you describe the people you want to reach or import people you already know. You review the profiles, add recipients to a draft and choose a call or a reply. The draft shows a price for each person before you send. For a reply, the recipient chooses text or voice.
For example, a founder building clinic scheduling software could use Apollo to contact practice managers about a demo. If the founder first wants to understand how practices handle last-minute cancellations, a paid research invitation might be more useful:
I’m researching how outpatient practices handle last-minute cancellations. Would you take a paid 15-minute call about a recent case you personally handled? This is a research conversation, with no product demo.
Describe the experience you need in the message. A practice-manager title alone does not establish that the person handled scheduling. If your purpose is to present the product, say that instead of calling it research.
What does it cost?
Apollo’s September 17 plan explanation lists annual-billing rates of $49 per user per month for Basic, $79 for Professional and $119 for Organization, with a three-user minimum for Organization. There is also a free plan. These subscriptions include credits, so check the allowance for the data and features you will use, as well as the seat price. Apollo plan details
Instant Expert quotes requests individually. Review the actual recipients and prices in your draft; there is no single rate that applies to everyone. Paying for a sales platform and offering payment for someone’s time serve different purposes, so neither is automatically the cheaper choice.
Can you use an Apollo list?
Yes. Export the contacts you want to approach and import the CSV into Instant Expert. A row can identify someone by name plus company, email or LinkedIn URL. This is a file transfer, not a native Apollo connection. Apollo counts some exports against its credit allowance. Apollo pricing FAQ
You can also work through an AI assistant connected to Instant Expert. It can find or import people and prepare a request. Sending requires a saved card, paid-sending permission for that connection, and your explicit approval of the order.
Choose Apollo if you need a continuing prospecting and follow-up system. For a specific paid conversation, find someone in Instant Expert, inspect their background and write the request around what you want to learn or discuss.
