Instant Expert vs Clarity: choosing a paid conversation
Compare Clarity’s adviser directory with Instant Expert’s paid invitations. Learn how to check relevant experience, choose a person and compare prices.
Choose Clarity when you find a listed adviser offering help with your question. Choose Instant Expert when you want to invite a particular professional, including someone outside an advice directory.
Either person could give advice or describe firsthand experience. The important question is whether they have done work that helps them answer yours.
What to look for on a Clarity profile
You can browse Clarity’s public directory before requesting a call. For software businesses, start at Browse → Industries → SaaS. Open a profile and read the biography and advice topics, alongside the displayed rate. Browse the SaaS directory.
A profile offering SaaS growth advice may fit a founder deciding how to attract customers. If you instead want to understand how finance and IT approved a recent software purchase, look for experience participating in that purchase. A broad SaaS label alone does not answer that question.
You might find exactly that person on Clarity. If you already have someone in mind, or need to search for a specific professional background, Instant Expert gives you another route to invite them.
Compare the price for the conversation you want
Clarity profiles show a per-minute rate. For example, one public SaaS adviser profile we inspected displayed $16.67/min. Check the current rate for the person you choose; the final amount depends on actual call length. Clarity’s 15% service fee comes out of the amount paid to the expert, rather than being another 15% to add to the buyer’s displayed rate.
Clarity’s payment help and workflow help disagree about whether the initial amount is charged or only authorized. Check the booking terms before committing if that timing matters to you.
On Instant Expert, review the displayed price for the person and request you select. Compare the actual requests you would make, rather than the platforms’ fee percentages alone.
Make the purpose clear before requesting a call
For Clarity, describe why you want the adviser’s help, estimate the call length and propose three times. Its etiquette asks you to seek business advice rather than make an unsolicited pitch. Discussing your product to get advice is appropriate; a commercial discussion can follow if the other person expresses interest.
For Instant Expert, find a professional or start with a contact you already know. Explain what you want to discuss and why you chose them. You can explicitly propose a research conversation, job introduction or sales conversation.
Choose a call for a discussion, or a paid reply for one focused question. For replies, the recipient chooses text or voice. The call-or-reply guide helps you choose. Review the invitation and displayed price before sending.
