Greenhouse organizes applications, interviews and hiring decisions. Instant Expert helps you approach selected professionals with paid invitations.

Instant Expert EditorialPublished Updated 3 min read

Greenhouse runs your hiring process. Instant Expert helps you start a conversation with someone you want to recruit. If you need application tracking, interview plans and team feedback, Greenhouse is the relevant purchase. A paid introduction serves an earlier, narrower purpose.

Greenhouse provides interview kits, scorecards and scheduling. Instant Expert lets you search for professionals or import known contacts, then offer payment for a call or reply.

Where they fit in one hiring process

Imagine you are hiring a support lead. You have applicants, but you would also like to approach a few experienced leaders who have not applied.

StepUseful approach
Invite a particular leader to hear about the openingA direct invitation; Instant Expert can attach a payment offer.
Establish whether the role interests themA short conversation about responsibilities, working arrangement and salary.
Assess candidates consistentlyA defined interview plan and scorecards in Greenhouse.
Decide who advancesThe hiring team reviews the evidence and agrees on the next step.

The introduction and the assessment should be clear to the candidate. If you offer a 15-minute chat about the opening, use it to explain the role and answer questions. Do not turn it into an unexpected panel interview.

Make the interview kit useful

Before a Greenhouse demo, write down what the support lead must actually do. For example, improve a broken support process, coach colleagues and resolve recurring issues with engineering.

Ask the vendor to build an interview kit around those requirements. Then inspect a sample scorecard. “Explained how they diagnosed a backlog and changed the triage process” gives reviewers evidence to discuss. “Seems like a strong leader” does not.

If nobody asks about an essential skill, mark it as unassessed. The absence of evidence is a reason to investigate further, not an automatic negative score.

Plans and costs

Greenhouse's current plans are Core, Plus and Pro, with custom pricing. Core lists interview kits, scorecards, scheduling and reporting. Plus adds sourcing automation and texting; Pro adds more advanced controls. Ask for the package that covers the work you demonstrated.

Instant Expert prices each request. Inspect the selected person's profile, invitation and buyer total before sending. For a call, the card is charged when the person books; payment does not make them an applicant or guarantee interest in the job.

Use Greenhouse when hiring coordination or inconsistent evaluation is the problem. Consider a paid invitation when you already know the role and want to reach someone outside your active applicant pool. If the role itself is unclear, start with research before hiring.
