Example: distributors in a new market
Suppose you want to understand how distributors place replenishment orders, but you do not speak the local working language. Ask IDR to quote the whole session: a person who actually handled orders, a moderator or interpreter if needed, and an English transcript or summary afterward.
Clarify the language of the call separately from the language of the delivered material. Post-call translation helps you read the answers later; it does not let you ask an informed follow-up during a conversation you cannot understand.
Also give the moderator a practical starting question: “Walk us through the last replenishment order you handled, from checking stock to receiving supplier confirmation.” That is easier to act on than “Discuss distribution trends.”
