Instant Expert vs ZoomInfo: which job do you need done?

Choose between ZoomInfo’s account data and sales workflows and Instant Expert’s paid calls or replies. Includes a practical buying-group example.

Instant Expert EditorialPublished Updated 3 min read

ZoomInfo makes sense when a team needs company data, contact information and sales workflows across many accounts. Instant Expert makes sense when you want to invite particular people to a paid call or ask them a paid question.

A founder who needs to talk to someone about a past software rollout may not need a company-wide sales platform. A sales organization that needs to keep its CRM current will need more than an interview tool.

What ZoomInfo adds

ZoomInfo combines company and contact data with buying signals, segmentation, CRM enrichment and lead routing. Copilot adds account research, email drafting, follow-up and meeting preparation. These are useful when reps need to decide which accounts to approach and keep track of ongoing sales work. Platform overview, Copilot

For example, a team selling inventory software might use ZoomInfo to find distributors, identify operations and IT contacts, and prepare for a sales meeting. It could then keep the account details and subsequent activity in its connected sales systems.

Instant Expert takes a smaller, more specific task: find someone relevant, offer payment for their time and track the request. You choose a call or a reply; for replies, the recipient can answer in text or voice.

When you need someone’s experience

Suppose your question is why inventory-software pilots stall before a full rollout. An operations director’s profile is a starting point, but you still need to know whether they took part in a pilot.

Look for evidence of that work in the profile and make the invitation specific:

I’m researching inventory-software rollouts. Would you take a paid 30-minute call about a pilot you personally worked on, including what had to happen before a wider rollout?

Use the beginning of the conversation to establish the person’s role. Someone who approved the budget can explain different parts of the decision from someone who handled the integration. That difference is more useful than simply choosing the most senior title.

If you already have suitable contacts, import them into Instant Expert using a CSV with name plus company, email or LinkedIn URL. This is a manual handoff, not a ZoomInfo integration. Review the matched people, invitation and prices before sending.

Pricing and where to start

Get a current ZoomInfo quote for the products and users you need. We could not verify a public dollar price on its pricing page during the September 26 check. Ask the salesperson to show the specific work you intend to do: for example, find distributor accounts, add operations contacts to your CRM and maintain those records. Confirm which parts are included in the quote. ZoomInfo contact sales

Instant Expert shows a price for each recipient in your request draft. Start with a clearly described conversation, then inspect the people and offers before committing.

Choose ZoomInfo for recurring account research and sales operations. If the immediate need is firsthand input from a person, start with an Instant Expert search. For a paid product introduction, say explicitly that you want to show the product and discuss its fit.
