Recruiting tool comparisons
Instant Expert vs Humanly: applicant screening or paid outreach?
Humanly automates applicant conversations and scheduling. Instant Expert offers paid introductions to selected professionals. Compare the two hiring tasks.
Use Humanly when applicants are waiting on screening and scheduling. Consider Instant Expert when you want a conversation with a particular professional who has not applied. The right starting point is the problem you need to solve.
Humanly's AI Recruiter handles applicant engagement, questions about the role, configurable screening and calendar-connected booking. Its broader platform also includes an AI interviewer, recruiting records and candidate relationship tools.
Instant Expert lets you search for people or import known contacts, then offer payment for a call or reply. You choose whom to approach and explain the opportunity yourself. It does not run an automated applicant-screening process.
One company, two different hiring problems
Imagine a retailer with dozens of open store roles and one regional-manager vacancy.
For the store roles, the problem might be that applicants wait days to hear back. Humanly is worth evaluating for that repeated sequence: answer a question, collect required information and book an interview.
For the regional manager, the team might have only a few people it particularly wants to meet. A paid invitation could introduce the opening to someone with relevant multi-site experience. Filling a calendar and establishing interest are different tasks.
What to ask Humanly to demonstrate
Use a situation your recruiting team already finds awkward. For example, an applicant can work most weekends but needs one recurring Saturday off.
Ask the vendor to show:
- What happens when the answer does not fit a simple yes or no.
- How a recruiter sees the conversation and clarifies it.
- What the applicant receives when no interview time works.
- How changed pay or shift information reaches the applicant.
These checks reveal more than watching an ideal candidate complete the easiest path. In a pilot, measure stalled applications and coordination time against your own starting point. Published customer results are not a forecast for your stores.
What a paid introduction should say
For the regional role, explain the region, number of sites, travel expectation and salary range. Offer a 30-minute call to discuss the work and mutual interest. Ask about the experience you need in the invitation; during the call, explore a specific example of managing several locations.
If you only need to know whether the role interests someone, request a focused paid reply. The recipient chooses text or voice. Agreeing to be paid for that exchange does not mean they want to join your hiring process.
Humanly's reviewed pages offer demo-based pricing. Ask for the products, applicant volume and integrations included in the proposal. Instant Expert shows a price for each request. Review the people and buyer totals before sending, and keep that outreach budget separate from the software used to process applicants.
