Choose Workable when you need software to run hiring. Consider Instant Expert when you want to offer particular people payment for an introductory conversation. A paid call can start a candidate relationship; it does not replace an applicant tracking system.

Workable covers job publishing, applicant records, interviews and offers. Its Agent can source people, send outreach, collect information and evaluate candidates against job requirements. Instant Expert lets you find or import professionals and send selected people paid call or reply invitations.

Workable has two costs to check

On the public pricing page, Standard Recruiting for 1–20 employees displayed $299 per month, billed $3,588 annually, with HR excluded. Company size, billing choice and add-ons change the quote.

Workable Agent also uses credits. The page lists one credit for an evaluation, two for a sourced addition and ten for a candidate chat interaction. Paid accounts start with 3,000 free credits; a 5,000-credit pack costs $600. Purchased credits expire after a year and are non-refundable. The free trial excludes the Agent.

A credit budget you can adapt

Suppose your planned activity is:

ActionCountCredits eachTotal credits
Evaluate a candidate8001800
Add a sourced candidate1002200
Candidate chat interaction4010400
Total1,400

This example uses 1,400 credits. At the 5,000-credit pack rate, that is $168 of the pack's value. It is not a $168 purchase: buying that pack costs $600, and your starting allowance or remaining balance determines when you need it.

Count actions rather than unique candidates. One person may be evaluated and later chat with the agent. Ask how repeat actions count before estimating your own usage.

For Instant Expert, a budget starts with actual people and their displayed request prices. Keep that budget separate from the recruiting subscription and Agent credits. None of these spending figures predicts a hire.

What should you try?

For Workable, take one real role to a demo. Separate essential requirements from preferences, then inspect a plausible candidate with an unfamiliar job title. Ask to see the reason for the recommendation and how a recruiter corrects a mistake. Workable describes human review and override controls; the demo should show how they work in your process.

For Instant Expert, start with the people you particularly want to speak with. Explain the role, location, travel expectations and salary range, then offer a 15-minute paid introduction. Ask about essential experience in the invitation and conversation. Review the profiles and prices before sending.

If a focused question about interest would be enough, request a paid reply; the recipient chooses text or voice. A person can accept the exchange and still decide the role is wrong for them.

Workable is the relevant purchase when managing applicants and interviews is the recurring problem. Instant Expert can help with a specific introduction within that larger hiring effort.
